Managing Underperformance

Underperformance can have a significant impact on individuals, teams and workplaces. Staff may become unmotivated if they must alter their work practices to accommodate underperforming colleagues. Managing underperformance is confrontational for even the most competent manager, which means that underperformance can remain unmanaged for too long.

This workshop puts into place a clear and consistent process for managing underperformance that is respected by all. The workshop explores some of the reasons that people’s work may deteriorate and the steps that need to be taken to get them back on track and performing to the best of their ability.

*This workshop does not provide technical performance management advice for government. Contact CORP to develop a customised program if required.

In this session we will explore:
  • Identifying poor performance in the workplace
  • Assessing and analysing performance issues
  • Discussing the problem with the person who is underperforming
  • Working with the person to devise a plan for improvement
  • Monitoring progress
  • Support throughout the process
